
Al Ahly defeated 2-1 by Spain’s CE Europa in friendly
Al Ahly’s first-team football squad lost 2-1 to Spanish side CE Europa in a friendly as part of the club’s ongoing training camp in preparation for the new season.
The match was played at CEF Bosc de Tosca Stadium, with CE Europa taking the lead shortly before half-time before doubling their advantage early in the second half.
Achraf Bencharki pulled one back for Al Ahly midway through the second half.
Head coach Hussein Ammouta used the friendly to give a large number of players an opportunity to feature as part of his preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Al Ahly are currently holding a pre-season training camp in Spain, which will run until 20 August.
The Red Eagles are scheduled to face Barcelona in their final friendly of the Spanish training camp on 19 August at Spotify Camp Nou as part of the Joan Gamper Trophy.
They will then return to Egypt to begin the new season with a league game against Al Sharqiya Enppi at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, 23 August.
