Al Ahly end Ribeiro tenure by mutual agreement

Al Ahly have parted company with football first-team coach José Ribeiro and his staff by mutual consent on Sunday.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the club’s planning committee, attended by president Mahmoud El Khatib and sporting director Mohamed Youssef.

The talks began at 11 a.m. and ran for several hours, reviewing reports submitted by Ribeiro and Youssef.

Al Ahly expressed appreciation for Ribeiro’s efforts since his appointment, noting that while he worked diligently, results did not support the continuation of the project.

The club said it remains committed to delivering on the high expectations of their supporters at both domestic and continental levels.

The planning committee will continue their discussions in the coming days to settle on the technical staff who will guide the team in the next phase.
