Al Ahly’s women’s first team cruised to a dominant 9-0 victory over visitors Ittihad Basyoun on Friday in the second round of the Egyptian Women's Premier League.
The match, played at Al Ahly’s New Cairo grounds, featured a standout performance from Soraya Ashraf, who netted a hat-trick. Nour Youssef added a brace, while Ashraqat Adel and Habiba Omar each scored once. Ittihad Basyoun also conceded two own goals.
The emphatic win cements Al Ahly’s strong start to the league campaign.
The Red Eagles began their season in convincing fashion with a 3-0 win over Palm Hills SC last week.
Al Ahly will face Ra’ FC next in the third round of the domestic competition.
