Al Ahly face Arab Contractors in Egyptian League Cup

Al Ahly’s senior football team will take on Arab Contractors on Monday in the second round of the Egyptian League Cup group stage at Cairo International Stadium.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 Cairo time (GMT+2).

The Red Eagles began their Group C campaign with a 5-0 victory over Asyut Petroleum last month.

The competition was launched in the 2021–22 season following the establishment of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association.

It is held during international breaks and features clubs competing in the Egyptian Premier League. Over the first five editions, Modern Sport claimed the inaugural title, Ceramica Cleopatra won the next three editions, while Masry lifted the trophy in the most recent tournament.

The 2026–27 campaign marks the sixth edition of the competition, with 20 clubs taking part.

The teams have been divided into four groups of five, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.

The groups are as follows:

Group A: Zamalek, Wadi Degla, ZED FC, Talae El Gaish and Ittihad Alexandria.

Group B: Pyramids FC, Smouha, NBE Club, Modern Sport FC and Canal SC.

Group C: Al Ahly, Al Sharqiya Enppi, Gouna, Arab Contractors and Asyut Petroleum.

Group D: Masry, Ceramica Cleopatra, Suez SC-Petrojet, Ghazl El Mahalla and Abu Qir Fertilizers.
