Ammouta: Al Ahly got the job done against Arab Contractors as youngsters seize their chance

Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammouta said his team achieved their objective by securing a victory over Arab Contractors in their Egyptian League Cup encounter on Monday, stressing that the coaching staff were also keen to give young players valuable playing time.

“We approach every match with the required level of seriousness. We were keen to start the game with several young players, while Yasser Ibrahim and Mohamed Hany also returned to action,” Ammouta said.

“We managed to control the game and created several chances but failed to convert them. Given the opportunities we had, the match should have ended with at least a 3-0 victory,” he added.

“Emam Ashour is one of the best players. He was not 100% fit, but he will return strongly in the coming period,” Ammouta continued.

Al Ahly boss stressed that his team always target victory, regardless of the competition.

“We always seek to win every match in every competition we participate in. We approach each game as a contest in which our objective is to claim victory,” he explained.

Ammouta also highlighted the coaching staff's thorough preparations for upcoming opponents.

“We always make sure to study our opponents thoroughly. Within the available resources and capabilities, we watch at least five matches of each opponent and work to impose our style and approach during games,” he said.

The head coach concluded by explaining that the coaching staff manage the demanding fixture schedule through squad rotation, ensuring that all players remain match-ready while giving as many squad members as possible the opportunity to feature.
