Al Ahly’s football director, Walid Salah El Din, dismissed reports on Wednesday claiming that winger Ahmed Sayed Zizo had requested to undergo a recovery programme outside Egypt.
Salah El Din clarified that all information regarding the player’s injury was false, reaffirming that Zizo had not asked to travel abroad for rehabilitation.
Zizo, 29, has been diagnosed with a grade two groin strain following medical scans.
He signalled to the bench with muscle discomfort during the first half of Al Ahly’s 1-1 draw against Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday.
