Al Ahly give Mosimane a warm welcome on his visit to the club ahead of Egypt clash

Al Ahly board members Tarek Kandil and Sayed Abdel Hafiz welcomed Pitso Mosimane, the former head coach of the club’s first football team and current head coach of the South Africa national team, during his visit to the club’s headquarters in Gezira on Thursday.

Mosimane visited Al Ahly’s Gezira headquarters and the club’s Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium as he is in Cairo ahead of the friendly match between South Africa and the Egyptian national team.

The South African coach was accompanied on the visit by Bafana Bafana goalkeeping coach Marcus Mashilo, as well as Kabelo Rangoga and Moussa Matlaba, both of whom previously worked on Al Ahly’s coaching staff during Mosimane’s tenure.

Mosimane expressed his happiness at returning to the club, stressing that Al Ahly holds a special place in his heart. He added that visiting the club’s headquarters and El Tetsh Stadium brought back many fond memories of his time with the players, administrative staff and supporters.

At the end of the visit, Kandil and Abdel Hafiz presented Mosimane and his companions with an Al Ahly commemorative shield and club jerseys.

Mosimane, in turn, gifted Kandil and Abdel Hafiz South Africa national team jerseys, in a gesture reflecting the strong ties he maintains with the club’s officials.
