Al Ahly lay foundation stone for New Mansoura headquarters
Al Ahly's board of directors, led by president Mahmoud El Khatib, on Monday laid the foundation stone for the club's new headquarters in New Mansoura City as part of its expansion and investment strategy.
The ceremony, attended by several provincial governors, government officials, public figures and sports personalities, marked the launch of Al Ahly's first branch outside Cairo as part of the club's geographical expansion plan, in line with Egypt's national urban development strategy.
Among those attending were Dakahlia Governor Tarek Marzouk, Gharbia Governor Alaa Abdel Moaty, Damietta Governor Hossam El Din Fawzy, Kafr El Sheikh Governor Ibrahim Mekki, as well as university presidents, members of parliament and the Senate, former Al Ahly players and media representatives.
During the ceremony, contracts to execute the project were signed by Al Ahly Sports Facilities Company, headed by Tamer Nasser, Delta Capital Real Estate Development, headed by Abdel Hadi Hegazy, and Nations of Sky, headed by Tamer Nabil, officially launching construction.
The New Mansoura branch is part of Al Ahly's strategy to expand its facilities and develop a modern model for sports and social clubs in line with the state's urban development plans and the construction of new cities.
The club will be built on a 40-feddan (approximately 16.8-hectare) site and will feature sports, social and commercial facilities built to international engineering standards.
Planned facilities include a main clubhouse, an administrative building, two swimming pool complexes, four football pitches, four basketball courts, four volleyball courts, four handball courts, tennis courts, a gymnasium and dedicated buildings for youth teams and academies.
The project will also include a water park, a children's entertainment area, restaurants and cafés, retail and service outlets, landscaped green spaces and parking facilities, creating an integrated sports and leisure environment for club members and their families.
The New Mansoura headquarters is the latest addition to Al Ahly's network of facilities and reflects the club's ambition to expand beyond Cairo while providing sports and social services.
The project is expected to strengthen Al Ahly's presence in Egypt's rapidly developing new urban communities and reinforce its status as one of Africa's and the Middle East's leading sports clubs.
