Al Ahly will begin their CAF Champions League campaign by facing the winner of the first preliminary round between Aigle Noir Makamba of Burundi and ASAS of Djibouti.
The Red Eagles have been granted a bye for the opening round after securing the top spot in the continental rankings with 76 points.
The 2025-26 CAF Champions League preliminary round draw revealed that Aigle Noir Makamba will play ASAS, with the winner advancing to face Al Ahly in the second round.
The home matches of the first preliminary round will be held from 19 to 21 September, while the away fixtures are scheduled from 26 to 28 September.
The first leg of the second preliminary round will take place from 17 to 19 October, with the return legs set for 24 to 26 October.
Al Ahly, a record 12-time champion of the competition, will look to extend their dominance in the prestigious tournament.
