Al Ahly midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane sustained a minor knock to his knee during Friday’s 4-1 win over Pharco FC but remains available for the upcoming Egyptian Premier League clash against Ghazl El Mahalla, team doctor Ahmed Gaballah said on Saturday.
“Ben Romdhane’s injury won’t prevent him from playing in the fourth-round match against Ghazl El Mahalla,” Gaballah told reporters.
“He will undergo medical tests before Monday’s training session to confirm his full readiness,” Al Ahly's doctor added.
The Tunisian international featured in Al Ahly’s dominant win over Pharco in the second round of the league, after which head coach Jose Riveiro granted the squad a two-day rest.
The defending champions resume training on Monday ahead of their match against Ghazl El Mahalla on 25 August.
