Ashraf Speaks Ahead of Al Merrikh’s Game

Ayman Ashraf, Al Ahly’s football first-team defender, spoke on Thursday ahead of the team’s match against Al Merrikh SC in the CAF Champions League group stage.

In his pre-match press conference, Ashraf gave his thoughts ahead of Friday’s game and talked about what the team needs to qualify for the next round of the competition.

“We have two important matches coming up in the competition against Al Merrikh and then Al Hilal. We are aiming to win both games in order to qualify for the next round. However, we are only focused now on facing Al Merrikh.”

“The senior players in the team stress the importance of every tough game we face in the competition in order to make sure that everyone works to achieve the desired target.”

“Finally, we are able to overcome that difficult situation that we are currently in the group and win the next two games. As for my condition, I believe that I am fit to participate in the match, and of course, that is up to the coaching staff to decide.”

 The Red Eagles are set to face Al Merrikh on Friday at 6:30 PM in the fourth fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage.
