El Shenawy confident ahead of JS Kabylie clash in CAF Champions League

Al Ahly captain Mohamed El-Shenawy said his team is well prepared for Saturday’s CAF Champions League match against Algeria’s JS Kabylie.

Speaking at a press conference at Cairo International Stadium, El-Shenawy said: “We are used to maintaining high levels of focus and we understand the importance and value of this match. We are determined to win, especially after the morale boost from lifting the Super Cup and the conclusion of the international break.”

He added that Al Ahly, Africa’s record 12-time Champions League winners, are in a balanced group and ready to face any opponent.

The Cairo-based club was drawn into Group B alongside Tanzania’s Young Africans, Morocco’s AS FAR, and Algeria’s JS Kabylie.

“Anyone who wants to compete for the title must be prepared to face all opponents,” El-Shenawy said.

“Our focus is high against an experienced opponent, and we treat each match independently. Since returning to group training, every detail has been addressed, and our goal is to secure victory in tomorrow’s match,” he concluded.
