
El Shenawy vows to celebrate Egyptian Super Cup title with fans
Al Ahly captain Mohamed El Shenawy said his team are fully prepared for Sunday’s Egyptian Super Cup final against Zamalek, with the primary goal of winning the trophy and bringing joy to the club’s supporters.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Cairo time (GMT+2) at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, El Shenawy said: “We took the first step by reaching the final after beating Ceramica Cleopatra.”
“We understand the significance of this match - for us as players and for the coaching staff. We’re fully focused on achieving our goal of winning the trophy,” Al Ahly skipper added. “Al Ahly fans are always behind the team.
They are our biggest motivation in every competition,” the goalkeeper added. “We play to make them happy and hope to celebrate the title with them after the match.”
El Shenawy also praised the tournament atmosphere in the United Arab Emirates: “We always enjoy playing here. The atmosphere is fantastic, and our fans turn out in great numbers to support us passionately, which gives the players extra energy on the pitch.”
