Mosimane: We Must Win the Two Remaining Matches
Pitso Mosimane spoke to the press on Saturday after our game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the fourth fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage, which ended with a 1-0 win for the hosts.
Mosimane discussed the team’s performance, the incidents that happened before the match and the importance of the two remaining games in the group stage.
“Today we did not create many chances. We had a chance at the end, but unfortunately, we missed a good header. But it is okay. We move on.”
“Let’s not go to the VAR after we lost. But we are twenty years behind because of the VAR. We still have the same issue and there is no difference. We did not lose because of a VAR situation but it is very difficult for referees, sometimes I think it is onside and it becomes offside.”
“We are not here to complain about the heavy calendar we have. This is our life and this is the price to pay to be at Al Ahly.”
“We got two games to play. We should stay where we are and we must win the two games. The two games are in Cairo and we have no excuse. We had this situation before as last year we lost to Simba and drew against Vita Club. We lost so many points in the group stage, but we managed to qualify and you know how the story ended.”
“Before the match, I moved the barriers because the road was closed. They blocked the bus. There are too many things that happened that I do not want to talk about.”
