Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim said the Egyptian Super Cup, being held in the United Arab Emirates, holds special significance for the team, describing it as an important early-season test that provides the players with strong momentum in their pursuit of more trophies.

Ibrahim said Al Ahly approach every competition with a single aim - to win - and that the squad will enter the Super Cup with high spirits and a strong desire to lift the trophy and please their fans.

The international defender acknowledged that Thursday’s semi-final against Ceramica Cleopatra would be a tough contest, praising their opponents as a tactically disciplined side with talented players and an experienced coaching staff.

“We respect all our opponents and will work to execute the coaching staff’s plan precisely to achieve our goal and reach the final,” he said.

Ibrahim added that the team is continuing to adapt under new head coach Jess Thorup, with players eager to absorb his ideas and apply them on the pitch - a process that, he said, requires effort and cooperation from everyone.
