Al Ahly were held to a goalless draw against Al Masry on Thursday night at Borg El Arab Stadium in the Egyptian League. 

The Red Eagles lost two points but we are still atop of the table with four clear points. 

We were unable to make the breakthrough despite dominating possession throughout the whole game. 

We had a chance to open the score after 9 minutes when Mohamed Sherif controlled the ball on the edge of the box but his shot went over the bar. 

We kept sending crosses to the opposition's area but Al Masry goalkeeper made many saves, keeping his net clean. 

The most dangerous attempt in the first half was from Amr El Soulia who was in the perfect place to shoot but his shot was deflected to a corner. 

We started the second half with more desire and dominance but our chances were few and far between.

We nearly took the lead when Hussein El Shahat received a key pass from Mohamed Magdy Afsha but his shot missed the target. 

Koller looked to boost our attacking power by making a triple substitution as Shady Hussein, Ahmed Abdelkader joined the game alongside Ramy Rabia who replaced the injured Yasser Ibrahim. 

A winning goal could have arrived but Shady failed to control the ball inside Al Masry's box.
