Al Ahly men’s handball team defeated Red Star of Ivory Coast 29-21 in the second round of the African Handball Championship League on Sunday.
The Group A match took place at Mohammed V Arena in Morocco, which is hosting the 46th edition of the continental tournament from 11 to 20 October.
The Red Eagles took control early, surging to a 15-7 halftime lead and maintaining their dominance throughout the second half to secure a comfortable victory.
Al Ahly began their African Handball Championship League campaign with a commanding 41-11 win over Ethiopia’s Mekelle 70 on Saturday.
The Cairo giants will face JSK of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the third round on Monday.
