Egypt’s Al Ahly will take on Hungarian champions Veszprem HC in the second round of the 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship group stage on Sunday at the New Administrative Capital Arena in Cairo.
The 18th edition of the tournament runs from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 and is being held in Egypt under the auspices of the International Handball Federation (IHF).
Sunday’s match is scheduled to begin at 20:00 local time (GMT+3).
Al Ahly opened their campaign with a commanding 41-14 victory over Australia’s Sydney Uni in Friday’s group stage opener.
The Cairo-based side have been drawn alongside Veszprem and Sydney Uni in the group stage.
According to the tournament format, the top team from each group, along with the best-performing runner-up, will advance to the semi-finals.
Al Ahly made history at last year’s tournament, becoming the first non-European club to defeat Barcelona, and went on to secure a third-place finish.
