Al Ahly’s senior football team trained on Tuesday at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh ground at the club’s Gezira headquarters as they stepped up preparations for their CAF Champions League group-stage opener against Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
The session marked the full return of the team’s internationals following the end of the FIFA international window.
The group included players coming back from national team duty, those involved in Egypt’s Arab Cup camp, and the club’s foreign contingent.
Head coach Jess Thorup delivered a pre-training briefing to go over the team’s preparations for upcoming fixtures, with Saturday’s match against JS Kabylie the immediate focus.
Al Ahly reached the Champions League group stage after defeating Burundi’s Aigle Noir 2-0 on aggregate in the second preliminary round.
