Mosimane Weighs in on Al Ahly's CAF Super Cup Match

Pitso Mosimane, CAF Super Cup, Football

Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s head coach, spoke about our next match against RS Berkane in the CAF Super Cup on Friday.

In the pre-match press conference, Mosimane talked about the team’s preparations for the game and gave his opinion on our opponent.

“RS Berkane is a strong and very physical team in my opinion. They give everything inside the pitch. They have a Spanish coach who is a personal friend of mine. They are a team that did very well on the international stage. However, I believe we should get the result that we want if we play our normal game.”

“We have been involved in four big games and this is our fifth. We played against Al Ittihad and Zamalek in the league. We faced Sundowns in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League. We have been traveling from Cairo to Johannesburg and from there to Doha.”

“When you coach Al Ahly, you are under pressure in every match. I don’t remember being in a match with Al Ahly with no pressure. There is pressure every time and even tomorrow. We know our expectations and obligations. We want to make our supporters happy at home.”

“Support is important from our fans and we get it also from the board. We expect to deliver the trophy. You can see that your people are happy and you can feel their emotions. The only experience I have with Al Ahly fans was when we were here in Doha, because of the pandemic. The club is huge. We are doing okay and we can do better.”

“Finally, our supporters are the 12th player so we have an additional player when they are with us.  I faced Al Ahly before and I saw what they are like. They do add value.”
