Volleyball: Al Ahly crowned African women’s club champions, qualify for Club World Championship

Al Ahly women’s volleyball team have been crowned African Clubs Championship champions for the 11th time after beating Kenya Commercial Bank 3-1 in the final game of the continental tournament on Thursday.

Al Ahly SC are hosting the continental tournament from April 11-24.

The victory comes after a strong performance, particularly in blocking and serving, to finish the season with a historic five-title haul.

The match was held on Thursday at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Hall in front of a large crowd.

The team also secured qualification for the Club World Championship and extended its record as the most decorated club in the competition with 11 titles.

Al Ahly lost the first set 22–25 but quickly bounced back to win the second set 25–15, thanks to a powerful attacking performance.

Al Ahly women’s volleyball team dominated the third set 25-20 and sealed the championship with an emphatic 25-15 win in the fourth set.

This marks the fifth title of an exceptional season in which the team won every competition: the Egyptian domestic League, the Super Cup, the Super League, the Egypt Cup, and the African Championship.
