Al Ahly’s football first team were held to a goalless draw on Sunday against Ismaily in a postponed game from Matchday 18 of the Egyptian Premier League.
The game started with frontline pressure from our players we were keen to score the early opener in the match.
We managed to score a goal in the 18th minute, as Karim Fouad found the back of the net. However, the goal was ruled out due to an offside.
We kept trying to break the deadlock, but our attempts were blocked by Ismaily’s defenders.
The second half started with Ricardo Soares using his bench, as Hossam Hassan, Ahmed Abdelnaby, and Ahmed Abdelkader entered the pitch instead of Ahmed Gharib, Ziad Tarek, and Mohamed Sharqia.
In the 64th, Soares made another substitution when Mohamed Khalifa Nossier replaced Mido Nabil.
Our coach made another substitution as Mohamed Mahmoud joined the game instead of Mido Nabil.
We kept pushing to score the winner, but the opponent’s defenders stood their ground and managed to keep their net clean, as the referee blew his final whistle to declare a goalless draw.
