Al Ahly SC hosted the draw for the 29th Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) on Thursday evening as the club prepares to stage the tournament from 4 to 15 December, 2025.
The draw placed Al Ahly women’s basketball team in Group A alongside Rwanda’s REG BBC, Cote d’Ivoire’s Friends Basketball Association and Angola’s Sporting Clube Luanda.
Al Ahly will open their campaign on Friday against Friends Basketball Association in the tournament’s first match.
The ceremony, held in the Fikry Abaza Hall, was attended by board member Mohamed El Garhy, who heads the tournament’s organising committee; Khaled El Awady, director of sports activities; Hesham El Hariri, president of FIBA Africa’s Zone 5; and Mostafa Fawzy, a board member of the Egyptian Basketball Federation.
