Al Ahly host Young Africans in CAF Champions League

Al Ahly host Tanzania’s Young Africans on Friday in the third round of Group B of the CAF Champions League group stage at Alexandria’s Borg El Arab Stadium.


Al Ahly lead the group with four points, level with Young Africans but ahead on goal difference. Morocco’s AS FAR and Algeria’s JS Kabylie have one point each.


The two sides have met six times in African club competitions, playing 12 matches in total, all in the CAF Champions League under its former and current formats.


Al Ahly have won seven matches, lost one and drawn four, scoring 20 goals and conceding five.


Their most recent meetings came in the 2023-24 group stage.


The first leg in Dar es Salaam ended in a 1-1 draw, with Percy Tau scoring for Al Ahly, while Al Ahly won the return fixture in Cairo 1-0 through Hussein El Shahat.
