Al Ahly are set to face South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs tonight in the CAF Champions League final at Mohamed V Stadium at 9:00 PM, Cairo time.

Before heading into the game, we will have a look on some of our impressive records in the CAF Champions League final.

-We managed to reach the CAF Champions League final on 14 occasions throughout the competition’s history.

- Al Ahly participated in the competition for the first time in 1976, but we celebrated our first trophy in 1982.

- Al Ahly is the most successful team in the CAF Champions League history, having won the prestigious trophy a total of nine times.

- We faced a total of 10 teams in the previous finals, with Kaizer Chiefs being the 11th opponent in today’s final.

-The Red Eagles set another impressive record in the competition, as we reached the CAF Champions League final for four consecutive times in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

- We managed to win the title for two consecutive times in 2005 and 2006. We achieved this record once again in 2012 and 2013, and we are currently aiming to defend our African title once again after winning it last year against our arch-rivals, Zamalek SC.

- We managed to score 32 goals and concede only 18 in our 13 previous finals.

- Mahmoud El Khatib, our president, scored our first goal in the CAF Champions League final, while Mohamed Magdy Afsha, our current midfielder, was the last player to score in the final.

- Mohamed Aboutrika, our former veteran, holds the record of the all-time top-scorer in the CAF Champions League with 28 goals. Aboutrika is also our top scorer in the competition's final, having scored 5 goals.

- Khaled Bebo, the current head of the club's youth sector, is our first and only player to net a hat-trick in the CAF Champions League final.

- Wael Gomaa, our former captain, is the most decorated player in the history of the competition, having won six CAF Champions League titles throughout his career.
