Al Ahly board member Mohamed El Garhy, who heads the Supreme Organizing Committee for the 29th Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA), said the club is fully prepared to host the tournament scheduled for 4 to 15 December.
El Garhy said Al Ahly is deploying all available resources to ensure the event reflects Egypt’s profile and the club’s position in African sport.
He said the committee is holding regular coordination meetings to finalise organisational details and provide optimal technical and administrative conditions for participating teams.
“We are studying any potential challenges teams may face and working on solutions to ensure a competitive and stable tournament,” he said.
El Garhy highlighted Al Ahly’s tradition of welcoming African teams and staging major sporting events, adding that club president Mahmoud El Khatib is closely following preparations and has urged staff to deliver a successful championship in line with Al Ahly’s reputation.
He said the club’s modern infrastructure remains a core asset in hosting major competitions and underscores Egypt’s ability to organise continental sporting events at a world-class level.
